Most freshmen are assigned to live in the Pierson Hall or Warrior Row C. Each of our facilities has a slightly different style and layout. Your choice should be based on your comfort level and preferences.
Please understand that not all students will be able to get their first choice. The earlier you complete your housing deposit and application, the better chance you will have in being assigned to your first preference. Single rooms are typically not available during the fall semester due to occupancy levels.

The number of roommates and suite mates you have depends on the type of room you select. When you submit your housing application, you will be asked several questions about your personality and living preferences along with other items. It is vital that you complete the application on your own and answer the questions honestly to ensure the most compatible options for roommates.
Submitting your housing application earlier also increases the chances of roommate compatibility.
Living Learning Communities
Tech will have two living learning communities (LLCs) in 2019-20; the Honors community in Evans-Kimmell Hall and a newly forming community called “Well @ Tech” which will be housed on 1st and 2nd floors in Oropeza Hall. LLCs are intentionally designed communities for students who have like interests and want a specific experience as part of living on campus.
Honors students will discuss with faculty, local leaders, and other students how the interconnection of the sciences, humanities and technology are at work. This will occur as part of dialogue, connecting discussion with course content, and exploring a variety of topics such as ethics in the global arena to recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusion. To be considered, students must be admitted into the Honors program and completion of a supplemental questionnaire upon expression of interest.
Assignments to Evans-Kimmell Hall are double occupancy rooms and require a full meal plan for first-year students.
New in fall 2019, Residence Life will launch the “Well @ Tech” LLC. Well @ Tech is for students who are health-conscious with interests towards personal fitness, healthy living habits/choices, daily organization and time management, and general wellness in all aspects of their lives. The community will support and develop an environment for wellness by inviting faculty, staff, and even local “gurus” to share their expertise, and actively engage in working together to be healthy students. Sound like you? If so, just indicate your interest on your housing application. Assignments to Oropeza Hall are double occupancy rooms and require a full meal plan for first-year students.
